About David Williams

David is a post-doctorate researcher at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, where he is investigating GPU computing. Prior to this he worked in the games industry and wrote graphics/engine code for a number of PC/PS3/XBox titles. As well as making games he occasionally enjoys playing them, and also sometimes gets outside to do some photography.

  1. sooo many details 😀
    Did I interpret this correctly? it is hard to aim due to the 3rd dimension added?
    I did not see any aim-aids in the screenshots yet. But I imagine it will be quite hard to shoot ‘up’ from a third person view.
    I’m really curious about that.

    • Initially I was planning to add some kind of laser aiming system to address exactly this problem, but actually the shadows make it very easy. You just position the tank in the shadows and fire (allowing for enemy movement of course).
