Check out a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y7NGkahF4c I made showing my still WIP game.

I switched from free-person game to an isometric one.

I'm currently in the middle redoing the world. I'm sort of inspired by Rendezvous with Rama where I want my visuals to be based around a strange alien structure.

I still have a lot of work to do so I'm not sure how much I will get done. I already have behavior tree implemented. Just need to attach them to some A.I entities.

Oh btw next week I'm going to mess around with gradient textures, doing that I can save two texture channels which I can use for material properties that way I can have varied materials in a deferred pipeline.

looks very good!
please is it the game you wrote the techdemo in the showcase?
what will it be a jump and run(the avatar jumps in your video) or strategy?

It will have jump and stuff and lots of action. Survival elements.

I also want to have strategy stuff in it like building and connecting bases, connecting components.

In my game I can already create regions of block and attach function to that region. The idea is actually similar to influence map where here a type of block has a specific function. For example you can build a region with power blocks, the system take cares of propagating values to neighbor regions, and other blocks can draw power off it. So sections of blocks have functions.

Looks very nice - your lighting is as pretty as ever :-)

It sounds like you've got some interesting gameplay ideas as well. The power connectivity thing reminds me of an idea I had to build a game where you battle it out with tiny characters on printed circuit boards, and one of the game play mechanics would be to lay voxels to form the electrical tracks to power your structures (electrical components) while also destroying the enemy tracks. I think there's a lot of cool stuff you can do with this kind of propagation/connectivity idea.
