Hi,

When I am making maps for Voxlap I can add prefabricated KVX objects to my maps.

I was wondering if there will be a way we can specify a prefabricated matrix, like a tree, and have the generator poke them all over the terrain surface?

I plan on learning how to generate nice terrains. I hope that we can do it with pre-fab trees, and rocks too.

Thanks :)

At the moment there is no support for this, though really it would be a feature of the editor rather than the underlying engine. At the moment the editing capabilities for the ColoredCubesVolume in Unity are rather weak, and you would be better off building your world in a program like Qubicle or Voxed. I assume these programs provide the feature you are talking about?

Actually I just saw your post on the Unity forums (re MagicaVoxel) so thought I should clarify. It is indeed possible to have these extra voxel models in the scene, but they exist as seperate volumes. That is, one volume for the terrain and one for each of the trees. This is not so good for performance if you have a large number.

What I thought you were asking for in this post was to write the tree data directly into the terrain volume, so that you still have a single volume at the end of the process. This is the part which is not implemented.

Let me know if that is not clear...

Edit: There's also no UI for this stuff, in the unity thread I set the transform of each character manually in the inspector. The transform gizmo's aren't working at the moment. You should also be able to do it through code.
